About life and death

Life is an amazing thing. You hardly ever stand still to realise that because it's a given thing, and so common that there is no reason to reflect on it, usually. It is however something I try to appreciate as much as I can. Why, you may ask. Well, there is this opposite of life and that is death. Have you witnessed death? As in someone dying? I have. Several times. The last time it…

Cool

Yes. You know cool. The cool things and certainly the cool people. Who doesn't want to be cool? I don't want to be cool. Someone who's cool is always in control. Nothing can shock, excite, touch, harm or soften such a person. They are always "chill" which fits with the "cool". This kind of "cool" equates to someone who is desperately out of touch with their emotions. And that is not cool.

Technology WTF

A while ago I was looking at configuration stuff for Citrix because somehow the ICA client in the browser stopped passing through my login credentials to the Citrix server. (I didn't find them by the way.) During the search did I stumble upon this funny bit which I thought was worth sharing. I've got a production app that runs under Citrix. Due to various problems, a two-hour batch job that the app runs has tb…

Another one on god. The christian one, I mean.

Adam, Eve, the snake and the famous apple We all know this one. The woman taking an apple from the tree of knowledge even though this mighty god told them not to take it. What surprises me is that this god isn't able to keep that snake away from the garden, or at least make it shut up. After all, in this story it wasn't Eve who got the apple by herself, she was pestered…

Don't try this at home

I don't agree with this. If something dangerous or downright stupid is done, we should not warn people to 'not try this at home'. Let them try it. Let them remove themselves from the gene pool and create a fresh line-up for the Darwin awards. Now don't take that what I wrote too seriously. Just seriously enough. I'm convinced that the governmental institutions are creating a bunch of robots who do exactly what they decree.

Religion. I don't care.

Really. I don't care about your religion. Are you christian? Fine. Are you muslim? Be happy with it. Are you hindu? Good for you. Just Don't Freaking Kill People. Even stronger:Β don't kill people in the name of your loving, caring god! It's not about killing 'non-believers'. It's about killing people. The idiot who shoved the idea into your mind that people who don't believe what you believe should be killed should be killed. Yes, read…

Senn. More than a film.

You may never have heard of Senn. It's a film not out of Hollywood - and that's a good thing, because I don't think Hollywood will ever make something of such quality and depth. On my writer's blog I've already paid some attention to Senn in regards to the film and the language that was designed for it. This post will focus on something else. Senn is the name of a person on the planet…

Meditation. It works.

You may be sceptical about meditation. Please have a look at this video about San Francisco schools that introduced meditation to their daily schedule. Still sceptical?

Thank God it's Friday. Yes...

Do you know this one? As some God is thanked it's probably based in the Christian religion. Muslims would rather thank Allah, I presume. So what's up with this TGIF thing? It's Genesis 2:2. "On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work." This is bad news for Christianity. Their god worked six days a week and only rested on the seventh day. This doesn't make…
